Amit Yadav
I am a research assistant at the Chair of Data Science in Civil Engineering and a Master's student in Digital Engineering at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. I develop scientific software for computational mechanics, working at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning and numerical simulation.
My current focus is extracting geometry and material information from micro CT images of additively manufactured materials and using it in finite element simulations. My background is in mechanical engineering.
Current work
- Research
Im2Frac, an image based simulation pipeline. Micro CT scans of additively manufactured specimens are segmented and their pores characterised, then used for phase field fracture simulations with the Finite Cell Method.
- Software
NIfTI Tool Suite, a PyQt6 application with command line tools for micro CT preprocessing, including artefact correction, segmentation, porosity analysis and export for simulation.
